The BeOS bible suggests that for small applications the BeOS system is good for any application up to a medium business. Use the R5.03 update to close ports not in use. My linux friends are still trying to hack into it.

I just started using BeOS Pro and I really like it. It was easy to install and configure. There is also a BeOS FTP client called HotFTP and it is very fast! I think there are FTP server softwares for BeOS also. Most likely free. If you have a spare hard drive and a couple of hours to play, give it a try. I got the BeOS Bible though, and that helped very much.
