I have used BeAIM in the past without any problems logging in. However, I have tried logging in and get disconnected as soon as I connect. Does anybody else have this problem? Thanks.

I had that problem last night. It was very irritating. So much so that I rebooted into Linux to use AIM, and that's not what I like to have to do.

I found what the problem is. BeAIM is trying to connect too fast and the AIM server kicked it off.
You can edit the BeAIM code and tell it to "sleep" for a 1000 count upon connection.
OR, you can do what I do. 1) Start BeAIM but do not log in. 2) Start GL Teapot, which will put a load on the processor and slows everything doen. 3) Log into BeAIM.
This works every time without having to edit anything.
