I don't use beos ( gave it a try but my hardware....) but from what I have read audio editing is one of the bright spots for BE

There are a few really good audio apps available for te BeOS. It depends on what you want to do and if you want to work cross OS. I have been using the BeOS for a majority of my new projects.
