is there any way of running 3d studio max on beos, I have 384mb of RAM but on windows rendering crashes consistently.
I was hoping a new operating system would help, if you know of any ways i could run max on beos plese help
3D Studio Max is currently not avalible for BeOS, and no ports are being made at this time to my knowlage. If you are familiar with Blender 3D, you might want to concider using it on BeOS, it is avalible for download at Blender's website. http://www.blender.nl

I will add, however, that a program to run Windows apps on BeOS is in development. I will keep this forum updated.
One small note: if you pir8ed 3dsmax, it is the dongle protection hack that causes 3dsmax instability and random crashes.
You can go to http://www2.discreet.com/ and ask them to develop 3dsmax under BeOS. If they get enough requests they might try to examine their market and give it a go.
I will warn you that the BeOS user base is still too small to warrant any large developers to move over here unless their app is easily portable and doesn't cost them to much to invest in.
