Subject: 2 problems on BeOS 5 PE !!!
Comment:
1. first problem : a driver for my ambient / intel modem -56k, internal, pci

2. second problem : i've got 2 sdram module (128 mb per each); the systems adjust automatically swap size starting with 192 mb, so, there is no more space for other applications ...
Is there a method to fix the swap size at 16 mb, for 256 physically ram ? But setting swap size on other partition, like in Linux ?

thanx

1. Controllerless (Host Accelerated) Linux- or Windows-only V.90/V.92 PCI Chipset or a HaM modem. You MIGHT only get a chance with a driver from Dano called trimodem.
2. You would be better off getting a new partition or another hard drive and using install to make more than the 500meg virtual file limitation. There are tips to make a bigger virtual file but heck, someone is always selling an old 2-8 gig machine for $30. Take the HD and you might get a usable modem in the bargain. You could delete the files that you are not useing(be careful!) you can delete the drivers that you know you don't have if you want a faster boot time too. (be careful again!)
I know somewhere is setting or prefs you can change the size of your virtual file. There might be a tip on keeping it that way.
other ideas are,
